Douglas has been in practice since 1996 in church and private practice settings. He was trained at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and Vanderbilt University. He works with adolescents (several years in youth ministry) and adults using a variety of therapeutic modalities. He specializes in premarital, marital, grief, mood disorders, and anxiety.
As a retired Air Force officer, he enjoys supporting military families. In addition to traditional models of therapy, he is trained in Discernment Counseling, Gottman Method Couples Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, and Lifespan Integration.
In addition to private practice, Doug serves as the Program Director of the MA in Marriage and Family Therapy at Whitworth University.
He is also an ordained minister and actively support missions around the world, particularly in South Asia.
